7) What is a CPAP clinic visit?

 

These appointments are for patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea and currently using CPAP.  A sleep technologist will meet with you, check your equipment, address any problems you are having, talk to you about your response to treatment, and order additional equipment if needed.  The technologist documents the visit, which is reviewed by your doctor at the Sleep Center.  Your referring doctors also receive a copy of the visit so that they are up to date on your progress with CPAP treatment.

 

CPAP clinic visits are particularly helpful if:

 

*  You are having mask issues.

 

*  You are having trouble tolerating and adjusting to CPAP.

 

*  You need new equipment or supplies ordered.

 

*  You would like to get an appointment sooner than the next available doctor’s appointment.
