Management Of Your Sleep Disorder

After evaluation and testing, results will be discussed in detail with the patient and referring physician.  A treatment plan will then be coordinated to meet the patient’s needs.

Sleep Specialist Follow Up

Patients who have completed the initial evaluation and testing (if needed) are asked to follow up with a Sleep Specialist for management of their sleep disorder.

CPAP Clinic

Sleep Disorders Center of Virginia has appointments available with a registered technologist (RPSGT) to address issues patients face when trying to successfully use CPAP.  The sleep technologist checks the patient’s equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and is delivering the correct pressure.  The tech also discusses any problems the patient might have in trying to use CPAP – mask fit, humidification, claustrophobia, etc., and helps the patient work through those issues.  Medical concerns are addressed by the doctor on staff and all CPAP clinic notes are reviewed by a Sleep Specialist.

If you have OSA and are an existing patient at our Center, you might want to schedule a CPAP clinic appointment if:

You are having difficulty adjusting to CPAP.

Your mask does not fit properly.

You need new supplies or equipment ordered.

You feel your pressure is too high or too low.

You believe your equipment is not functioning properly.

You would like an appointment sooner than the next available doctor’s appointment.
